GUTOR DOMINATES AT ADULT USA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS!

After 2 days of getting destroyed at the USA Volleyball Adult Open championships, the team of EliteVolleyballPlayers.com had only two options. Give up and go home or call in reinforcements.
The team comprised of 5 current or former USA mens national team players went for option # 2.
Calling in the shoulder of J.A.R volleyball power hitter Alex Gutor to led them thru undefeated play in the playoffs to win the Open Division Silver Bracket!
Before Gutors surprise arrival the team had not won as much as a set in the first two days of the competition that plays host to the best adult volleyball players in the country. Just 10 hours after Gutors plane landed in Mineapolis he had to take the court and led his team to their first win in 3 days.
The guys went on to win 3 more matches and the silver bracket championship title!
WOW

Beach Jrs Update

Jonathan was asked to host the 16s division of the Tejas Jrs Beach Volleyball Open May 25th out at Yucatan. J.A.R would like to say congrats to the Braasch twins on going undefeated and winning the 16s open division!

Hood Back in the Sand!

Regan Hood in just her first tournament back in the sand finishes second in the Thirdcoast Freedom Over Texas fourth of July qualifier series. With this finish she picks up right where she left off last summer dominating the sands of her home state of Texas.
Her next event will be in Austin in possibly the best tournament of the summer for the Texas so far May 30th.

Back 2 Beach

After just three days back home Alex and Jonathan had a very important choice to make. Should they......
A) Train for two weeks to get back into beach volleyball shape or,
J) Just register for the CUSVA Texas Grand Prix, without a single day of training...Get killed the first match by a team that has been training since late Febuary...and fight their way out of the losers bracket by winning 5 straight matches and finishing the tournament in 3rd place. By doing so getting as many contacts on the ball in one day as they would have needed to train one week to get otherwise.
Well...Of course they went with option J!
Congrats on the third place finish in just the first event of the summer and the first day back on the beach!

HOME SWEET HOME!

ALL THREE MEMBERS OF J.A.R ARE HOME!!! Time to share what they have learned and achieved over the past season with the great state of TEXAS!

Hood Signs Best Contract to Date!

Regan, after several weeks of deliberation recently met with the head coach of Mulhouse to sign her contact for the 2009-2010 season.
Mulhouse just finished the season as the runner up in both the league cup and championship. This guarantees that Regan's goal of playing in the European Champions League will be met in just her 4th season as an American international. (The Champions League competition pits the top teams in the world against each other over the course of 6 months to determine pro volleyballs best team!)
Congrats REGAN!!!

The Offers Roll In!

Jonathan and Regan have already received interest for next season from several clubs. Both players have been asked to return to their current clubs for next season! After Scotts performance in the last match of the season where he had to play as setter he was contacted by the second place club in Luxembourg and asked to be the teams Player/Coach, in the setting position for next season.
Scott also has options for next season in Germany, as well as a few clubs in the very strong Belgian championship for the coming season.
Hood, thru her manager as well as directly, has been contacted by every top team in the French league with offers over the past few weeks. One offer could see her moving from outside hitter to the rt side position!

A.R Both Bust the Bubble...

Alex & Regan both have finished their seasons in Europe and have both went from being on the bubble of relegation to safely guiding their teams into middle of the pack finishes and guaranteed participation in their respective countries top leagues for the next season.
Both Clubs reached their goals for the season as they were both very young teams in terms of top league involvement.
Great JOBS A and R!!

Hat Trick of Positions in Season 8!

Jonathan, after nearly a season ending injury, finishes the dutch championship and his 8th year in europe playing in his 3RD position of the season! When Scott arrived to the team in late January he was playing on the right side. Midway thru the season he asked to be moved to the outside hitter position to help the team with its struggling reception.
Last week the team received word that due to a scheduling conflict with the European youth championships and the Dutch volleyball league calender, that one of their matches needed to be rescheduled. Because of this scheduling change VC Sneeks starting setter would not be able to attend the game because of a prior engangement.
Scott sets most days in training while still getting over his ankle injury so he is the teams logical replacement choice.
What a season, WHAT a season!

Gutor Beats 2nd Best Team in the World!

Alex, and his Athens team pull off the biggest upset of the year as far as the Greek volleyball federation is concerned. Gutor and his team win in 5 sets against Iraklis Thessaloniki, the runner up team of the European Champions League.
Gutor headlined the campaign with his arm bruising jump serving and sharp angle attacks! With the win the team remains on the bubble for both the playoffs and the playdown relegation games!
Lets see what happens!

Will the R in JAR avoid relegation!?

Regan recently finished the regular season as one of the best players in the league. Most of the season she led France as the top scorer and top percentage hitter and was highly regarded as the new superstar of the league.
Hoods Season was highlighted by beating one of the most talented teams in Europe, Le Cannet volleyball club in 3 sets just a few weeks ago. Cheers of REEEGAN REEEGAN REEEGAN...echoed thru the sport hall in Florange France. :)
Hood and her teamates must now wait to see the results from the rest of the league to determine if they will be playing the league relegation games against the 11th place team in the top division and the top 3 teams of the second league. GL REGAN!
